So today I sat down in my comfy chair, put my glass of water to my side, grabbed my computer and started to do a little writing on my book.
Yeah, I didn't get very far.
I sat and sat and thought and sat some more. Nothing would come to me. I typed a few sentences and re-read them, didn't like them, so I tossed them.
Nadda. Nothing.
After a painstaking hour I decided to put down the computer, grab my red moleskin notebook, a pen and change my course of action. Obviously, what I had been doing had gotten me nowhere. So I made a change and not longer than ten minutes later words were coming to me and I began to write them down.
My point?
Fasting is sort of like taking my moleskin and pen to another room in my house. It's changing a course of action. Sometimes doing something different will get you better results. We can get stuck in spiritual ruts and the best way to pull ourselves out is by fasting. Get your mind off of YOU and onto God. Wow... what a change can make in one's book and more importantly one's spiritual life!
If you're wanting different results in your life, take the challenge and do something different. Fast for a change.
