Vulnerable

Ha, what a tricky word! Due to the abuse in this world many of us have sought the opposite, to be tough and hardened. Instead God desires us to be vulnerable still. He loves a heart that's open and pliable. He loves the vulnerability in His daughters. (No I didn't say pansy wall flower!) In fact, there is strength in vulnerability because it's an attribute that causes growth. No one who puts up walls grows. You only grow when you're real and honest!

Here's an honest moment for you: Yesterday I was in Target trying on swim suit bottoms for my tankini top. I chose several and made my way to the dressing room. After enduring the abuse of the two way mirror I finally decided on a bottom that kept everything "in" and hidden. :) As I was putting the one I decided on back on the hanger I was shocked and horrified to see the tag that read: "Liz Lang Maternity"!!!!!!!!!!!!! Need I say more? I haven't eaten since!

Kidding.

I realize today that maternity clothes are made to fit lower and yada yada but still, needless to say I wasn't feeling so hot at the moment!! Did I buy it? NO!!! I don't care how good the thing looked.

There, a vulnerable moment for your reading pleasure. For those of you who've ever had the weird notion that I was perfect.... I just blew that one out of the water for ya! So, God loves our heart open and real toward Him. He wants to do great things in us and use us in ways we can't imagine, but He chooses those who are willing to lay it all out there on the table to Him so He can work through it.

Have a great weekend and I will see you this Sunday for Mother's Day!! Invite your MOM to church!!!!!
xoxo

Good stuff as usual!!! Vulnerability is indeed tough, but necessary for growth. I've actually had more men teaching me this lately than women, funny as that may be....my husband, PC, Pastor Shane, and Pastor Joel. When anyone of them cry over God's people/church, oh man. Seriously feel Jesus singing in my spirit and heart and can't help but smile/laugh/or just cry too. Just a constant reminder that I need to be more vulnerable and open, and the more I am, the more he can grow and mold me to His likeness.

p.s....I wouldn't have bought the bottoms either. I won't even buy pants if in a particular style I would have to go up one size. HA ;P Not like anyone else would ever know, but I would.

This definitely made me smile! I totally know that feeling and I wouldn't have bought the thing either! :) It's hard to believe something like Vulnerability as being tough to achieve but I think too many of us tend to put up our walls. This is a true eye opener for me!
