In Hot Pursuit

I'd like to make a whole sermon series out of this portion of scripture because I liked it so much, but here's my attempt at a blog entry.

I Sam. 23:26 King Saul was chasing David around a mountain in hot pursuit. David and his 600 men were fleeing as fast as they possibly could, the Word says that Saul's men were closing in on him. The gap between Saul and David was getting smaller by the minute. When David was captured he would be killed.... or so he feared.

Suddenly, King Saul's officials found him and told him his land was being raided so Saul broke off his pursuit of David. Talk about saved by the bell.

Hmmmm, seems divine to me. Also seems in the nick of time.

Can you imagine the breath of relief David let out after knowing Saul relented? Death was biting at his boots. OR was it? We know God promised and called David to be the next King after Saul. Could Satan (or Saul) have stopped God's ordained promise?

Can he stop it in your life (if you are lined up according to God's Word)?

No.

Rest in knowing that no matter how close the enemy seems, no matter how late it's getting, no matter how scared you are..... God's divine plan will kick in soon to rescue you! Oh, how I love that!

I love that too! That can give us peace to think about that when things are getting seemingly too tough to handle God's plan will kick in soon to save us!! How awesome!
